Pisa: more than the Leaning Tower
I gave a somewhat ironic title to this tour, because it is impossible to tear you away from the Leaning Tower once you get there. But Pisa has so much more to offer. Beginning from the Piazza dei Mircoli itself, there is a huge baptistery, an amazing cathedral, and a scenic cemetery, Camposanto, where it is worth taking a look.
In addition, Pisa has a lot of interesting churches, alleys, squares, and curiosities. The city was a powerful maritime republic, and traces of this past are still visible today in its architecture. Pisa is also a city of writers, scientists, philosophers, and politicians. It has one of the best universities in Italy.
During the tour, we will focus more on the monuments in Piazza dei Miracoli:
- Baptistery

- Leaning Tower
- Camposanto Museum
But we will also visit:
- Square dei Cavalieri in the Medici
- The squares of Dante, Vettovaglie and Omobono
- The medieval street of Borgo Stretto
- Lungarno
