Overview
The world's first orphanage was founded to care for 2 baby elephants found abandoned in the wild.
1975 project has achieved so much, learning and experiences led to the opening of a couple of orphanages in the wild itself to train cubs to return to the wild after rehabilitation.
This trip is educational, I would love to talk more about Sri Lankan elephants and their life span. Many exciting discoveries are waiting to be revealed at Pinnawala.
